I always wondered about Dataform since dbt gets all the hype and one wonders how much of it is warranted and how much is just the state of the ecosystem - so the perspective was most welcome. Also, as someone who works professionally and with hobby projects in the GCP analytics space, thinking about how Dataform plays into long-term business positioning is super helpful!

I guess it would take a year or two. Google is known to aquire tech in order to release it only if/when a competitor releases that feature or product, so who knows!
